Our Journey to Balance

Extend the Horizon of Your Life ~
Finding Inspiration in Daily Existence ….

Sunday had started like most every other day in New York during the month of March; overcast, solemn and a bit melancholy; unpredictable, damp yet hopeful of spring. The calendar signaled a religious and cultural holiday for the Irish and in my home there was cause for celebration. It was our dog's birthday which provided, in my mind, the perfect excuse to get out and fight the blues of a lazy afternoon.

With boots tightly fastened and walking sticks in the trunk, we set out with our check list of tasks for the day, which included a hike and maybe some shopping along the way. Our destination was determined, though some room was left open for spontaneity. We had not decided on what trails to cover or how long to stay. After all, children are as unpredictable as the weather and the clouds did hover low which seemed a bit overpowering.

We arrived without much ado. The dog and children slept and there was very little traffic getting to the lake. It wasn't long before we adjusted our coats, put on our gloves and decided on a trail. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary; no snowflake out of place; no tree bearing its fruit.

Slowly and quietly the lake continued its task of wearing away its bed. Mud replaced dirt, while little creatures scurried about seemingly without a care. Everything seemed organized and meticulously placed for my eyes to feast on; the bird's nest, the geese swimming on the lake, even the old tree trunk was there in just such a way to lend me support from sliding rocks and wet grass.

In the distance I heard the determined steps of the children, who have, as a matter of course, become my achievements of day to day living, as well as tomorrow's promise. I allowed them to walk ahead; to chase the dog and to frolic with exuberance while I smiled and slowed down to a calculated and more methodical pace. I felt weighed down by thoughts, only this time, refused to dismiss them, just as we had dismissed the cold and the threat of rain.

I want them to deepen, to blossom and grow, I thought; to understand that spiritually, we are being guided and so we must pay attention. I want them to move on and to move forward; to focus on their wants and needs; to know that the answers are there to be found, experienced and understood.

To know as well that life is naturally progressing forward, and to overcome challenges; to learn to pay attention to instincts and what they tell us. We must be fully aware of all that is happening around us.

My children think this was just a hike, but it was not, for I believe it is in nature where full comprehension of divine law is understood. There, we can find divine value in our everyday existence. It is there when material possession becomes obsolete and we are rewarded with a spiritual liberty.

There's no lust, envy, hatred, delusions of wealth or even egoistic mortal conquests in nature. There is no bigotry, fanaticism, intolerance or even atrocities committed in games of power. There is no doctrine that betrays itself. There is only a truth waiting to be revealed and to be discovered by the human soul.

There is meaning in nature; a kind of purposeful meaning found in adaptability. It is there too, where we find love.

To Find Love is to Know God ~

When we feel this love, accentuated by a peace within, the world around us becomes a more peaceful place. This creates a happiness, which in do doubt, is linked to our spiritual evolution. It is through understanding nature that growth and progress is achieved. I believe in this premise as a kind of infinite reality; a divinity of values which carries the potential to drive a civilized society to focus on the attainment of the highest good.

Our hope for a better world is dependent on this understanding. If we are to progress and enlighten the soul, we must be mindful of our physical environment as well as our divine obligations to it.

Therefore, I encourage all to walk confidently and consistently in nature. Find God in nature and you will find him in your soul for truth is living and this revelation will be validated only through this very experience. Seek truth there and you will live it. Seek goodness there and you will find it in congruence with the human soul. Seek beauty there and it will reflect within your heart. Such is the burning light of moral consciousness.

Commit to progress; to bettering yourself and in turn, the lives of others. This is a natural born healing ability. This is your innate source of power. Feel that there exists a light that radiates hope and optimism from your being. Let this light envelop you and nurture your joy. Do not try to define this joy however, because just as love cannot be weighed in a balance, joy cannot be measured under a microscope. Flow, still and quiet, while the Universe replaces, adapts and molds your understanding. Do all you can, in your own way, and by no small measure, you will make yourself available to love.

Thank You … I wish you a Wonderful Week Ahead… Maritza

There is tremendous diversity on this planet. People have to wake up to experience it, consciously and unconsciously, and realize its value.

"Re-inventing the poetry of diversity" is important, but by itself, without this awakening, it will bring little.

Fear of solitude is something I once thought of as a fear of not being busy. After all, busy-ness is important, isn't it? In any case, for me that fear, I believe, entailed a failure to love myself. I didn't think I was as interesting as all the available external stimulation. There is also a fear that one's inner demons may emerge in solitude. However, obeying this fear denies you the chance to name your demons and welcome them in, which reduces their influence and makes them less threatening.

Source can be found in all traditions, as all faiths can lead to God. Let us use this basic premise as a unifying principle in today's turbulent times. In doing so, we encourage our brothers and sisters throughout the world find their own path to peace and love.

Know that you can be in this world, but not of it. For God can be found just as easily in the midst of loving family, as in a crowd of strangers.

God can be found too, within the walls of a monastery, or by a creek; in the eyes of a loving child or in the depth of a compassionate heart.

Women as men should be true to themselves as long as that self...

Women as men should be true to themselves as long as that self is good and sound. Just as men. If both people are living in the " Light" there should be no difficulty. We all must show tolerance and compassion..bend some. Be yourself and in that there is no falsehood. People are okay with that; good men are. If they are not and claim ownership …use fear - based logic. If he is not healthy with himself how can he ever treat you right? You are not a whipping post …walk away. Everyone should be happy. Life should be lived not purchased.

Our power lies in passion, you see; in expressing love; in pursuing what we want out of life with honor and dedication. In other words, no need be rescued; no one need be the victim. Instead, we should be empowered by our own self worth. Reflections. Peace & Blessings, Journey to Balance …

I have learnt that if you are open to learning, you will learn many valuable lessons. However, if you are stubborn, resistant, and defensive, always insisting that you are right, no lessons will ever be learnt. No growth will ever be experienced.

We are all on this journey together, teaching and learning from each other in many different ways.

~Inner Voice~Our Source of Wisdom~

Within each of us there is a source of wisdom that is ours and ours alone, and we can draw from it whenever we feel the weight of doubt influencing our ability to make decisions in a negative way. It is the inner voice we occasionally hear advising us during periods of uncertainty. Whether we label it the conscience or the heart of consciousness, this voice is usually quiet and unassuming, which means that it can be easily overshadowed by other concerns if we are not paying close attention. To hear what it has to say about our circumstances, we must listen carefully and attentively so that the wisdom it offers will make an impression upon us and guide us toward those alternatives that will prove most rewarding. Your hesitancy will disappear today when you trust in the truth your inner voice supplies.

~Be Love~Be Light~Be Magic~

If we can accept things as they are, we open ourselves to the immense and infinite healing vibrations of re~creation and renewal.

We open ourselves to beginning a new phase of our lives starting where we are right now, and knowing that where we are right now is the perfect place to begin to start re~creating, re~designing and re~shaping our mind ~ body ~spirit.

Beginning where you are right now, with what you have before right now is indeed the only place you can begin… let go of fear of the unknown or lack of faith that anything different can be done and just begin right now …

Repeat these words : "I totally love and accept myself where I am right now, and I'm ready to begin re~creating and re~designing my life to what suits my purpose and needs that which reflects my heart, true self, my spirit self … and so it is "

Whenever you give love, even if it is not accepted, even if it...

Whenever you give love, even if it is not accepted, even if it is trampled upon, scoffed at or mocked, it is not wasted. It does not go unnoticed. It is recorded in the stars … Peace & Blessings, Journey to Balance

"Many believe that their lives will change ONLY after others change or after the situations around them change. But, it's the other way around. WE must change in order for our lives to change. LIFE is our Mirror. We CANNOT make the reflection in a Mirror smile until we do. The mirror will NOT Change first. Use everyone and every situation as a mirror. If you Don't LIKE what you See, Don't blame the mirror. Let's ALL start taking RESPONSIBILITY for our Own Lives. Let's ALL start taking RESPONSIBILITY for Who and What we Attract. Claim Your POWER. ~Spiritual Awakenings~Don't Let Others Get the Best of...

~Spiritual Awakenings~Don't Let Others Get the Best of You!~

Some people will do things, just to get a rise out of you, to trip you up and bring you down - because they are threatened by your power or they want to have power over you. Light often attracts attack - but light also deflects it if one chooses to have a strong boundary.

It is quite selfish to disturb someone else's peace and then blame them for being too sensitive.

Some ego's might never grow or align with higher self, but that is their problem. Don't let others get the best of you - let it bounce back onto them by maintaining stability and neutrality, because they desperately need the wake up call.

Don't feed them or give them the satisfaction of hurting you. To end its ruler-ship  don't allow it in and don't allow it to make you a victim and don't become it.

In the face of it, let it empower your Spirit, because in that moment you are reminded of the goodness you are made of. No need to sink into despair or the pain because you have to deal with those who don't hold Love and Harmony as Sacred…

If you hold it as Sacred, then you will enjoy the benefits and you will assist in reminding others of how beautiful life can be when you have respect for the most important qualities of life.

~Raising Vibrations~Training Your Mind~

Many of us are slaves to our minds. Our own mind is our worst enemy. We try to focus, and our mind wanders off. We try to keep stress at bay, but anxiety keeps us awake at night. We try to be good to the people we love, but then we forget them and put ourselves first. When we want to change our life, we dive into spiritual practice and expect quick results, only to lose focus after the honeymoon has worn off. We return to our state of bewilderment. We're left feeling helpless and discouraged. It seems we all agree that training the body through exercise, diet, and relaxation is a good idea, but why don't we think about training our minds?

~Spiritual Awakenings~Letting Go~ There are certain people...

~Spiritual Awakenings~Letting Go~

There are certain people who aren't meant to fit into your life no matter how much you want them to. The only ones truly worthy of your love are the ones who stand with you through the hard times and laugh with you after the hard times pass. Maybe a happy ending doesn't include anyone else right now. Maybe it's just you, on your own, picking up the pieces and starting over, freeing yourself for something better in the future. Maybe the happy ending is simple letting go.

~Spiritual Awakenings~Overcoming Difficulties~ There is no doubt...

~Spiritual Awakenings~Overcoming Difficulties~

There is no doubt that we've all been through difficult times along our journeys in life. No one person is exempt from feeling pain, grief, struggle, or disappointment. We've all been there…and we've all survived. So why the struggles? Why the heartaches? Sadness? Despair?……Life lessons. We are all on a very specific path, perfectly laid out for each and every one of us. What one person may consider minor, another may consider major, and what one person may have an easier time overcoming, another may have more difficulties. But each and every day, each experience, whether it be big or small, is to teach us a life lesson, to make us stronger, and more compassionate.

~Spiritual Awakenings~You are Exactly Where You Are Meant to Be~

If ever you wake up in the morning and think to yourself that life is not going the way that you planned and is much harder than you think you can handle, remember that our lives have been created by a power far greater than you and I. A power that can see the entire picture, not just today, and knows what is best for us, whether we think so or not. Know that we are never handed anything that we can't handle. We must have faith that everything is precisely how it should be, at this given moment, right where we are. If you're ever in a place where you feel lost and confused, ask the Universe for guidance, and open yourself up to receiving the signs. We're on a learning journey… Do not fret over the things you should have done and wished were different. You are exactly where you should be.

~Spiritual Awakenings~Coping~

If you continually speak of your life as if you never feel good, things never turn out right, or nothing positive comes your way, you'll more than likely end up being right. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that it takes courage to be happy.
You can choose to take all of your experiences and channel them into your own reality show based on fear and anxiety, or you can think of all difficulties as opportunities for creating something new.

Spiritual Awakening ~ Past Relationships ~

Don't let past relationships ruin your future. Don't let someone or something that didn't make it in your life continue to hurt you. If you do, you're still giving a portion of your life to something that no longer exists – it's like letting your happiness slip into a black hole. Learn the lesson, release the pain, and move on. Scars remind us of where we have been, not where we are headed.

~Spiritual Awakenings ~ Breaking Up ~ Closure~ Most of us have...

~Spiritual Awakenings ~ Breaking Up ~ Closure~

Most of us have been through a tough break-up at some point in our lives. The feelings of despair, hopelessness, sadness and loneliness we experience are often overwhelming, and often seem endless. Usually though, with the help of friends, family, and our undeniable human spirit - we eventually get over our heartbreak. We slowly pick up the pieces, put ourselves back together, and move on, hopefully stronger and wiser in the end. Sometimes however, we can't seem to "get over it". We can't seem to understand how the other person could have left us. We had so much invested in them emotionally, that we can't even imagine life without them.

People often think closure is something we get from an external source: "If only I could talk to him/her again so I could understand…" Closure however, is about the feelings of peace and completion within ourselves. It's not always possible to get the answers from someone else, at least not the answers that will make us feel better about the situation. Relationship closure is an important part of emotional and mental health. Without it, we are unable to fully move on, commit to, and trust, someone new.

Every experience we go through is meant to teach us something, but it's up to us to figure out what that is. We often create a fantasy world around our relationships, and when the relationship ends, the pain tends to be more about the dissolution of the dream than the actual loss of the person. When things are real, honest, and truthful between two people, there are less surprises involved, and our needs our met. It's extremely important that we learn to clean up our own backyard before venturing into someone else's, and being honest with ourselves first is that all-important first step.

~Spiritual Awakenings~Forgiveness~ Let's be honest, we all...

~Spiritual Awakenings~Forgiveness~

Let's be honest, we all have those things hidden away inside of ourselves that haunt us. We have all been hurt at one time or another, our hearts have been broken, trust violated, apologies that were never made.

Forgiveness is never easy. We as humans tend to collect hurts, and if we aren't careful we can end up using those hurts as a wall. We convince ourselves that the wall is there to protect us, that it will keep the bad people out. It may, but it also keeps the good people out, and traps us inside of our own sorrows.

Humans are… well… human. Everyone will most likely disappoint us at some point or another in our lives, some more than others. When we refuse to forgive them, we often think we are punishing them, but we are really only punishing ourselves.

Forgiveness isn't about the other person at all, it isn't letting them of the hook, it isn't allowing them to get away with anything. It is simply setting yourself free. This is where it seems we get hung up the most.

We think that forgiving them means they are no longer responsible for their actions. In reality forgiving them just means you are no longer taking responsibility for their actions. You are in effect handing that responsibility back to them and moving on with your life.
